Cigar Weather

Winter enables me to dispense with some unsavory habits, not the least of which is cigar smoking. It simply gets too cold, even in my battic, to smoke a cigar during New England's annual ice age. And I dare not make my abode over into a tobacco free-fire zone, as Joe Sobran once explained to me he did with Dutchmasters. But when I glimpsed the mercury surpass fifty yesterday, I declared winter on vacation and proclaimed spring for a day. A Game cigar I had purchased at a 7/11 before Christmas served as the prop for my fiery ritual. I smoked it on my porch. What glory! It was my first of 2012. Along with a Red Bull, it gave me the frenetic energy of a PCP rush without the need to strip off all of my clothes or leap from a six-story window. Instead, I wrote, which I have been doing at a healthy clip lately. It is good for my health, at least in this one small way, that the frost and chill have returned again.

That's funny, when the temp goes fifty degrees or above, I usually go outdoors and take a run.

Each to their own, I guess.

Just jealous of my efficiency. Or that I have too much time on my hands?

I guess sometimes a blog post about cigars, is just about cigars.
