I'm spending the day in Yale's Sterling Library conducting research for my next book. The basement where I am entombed is nothing special. The rest of the building is. I have always been a fan of the Library of Congress's reading room. But Sterling Library's interior may beat it. If only goth kids were as cool as gothic architecture, the world would be a better place.
