Police in St. Paul and Chicago have arrested two criminals for the murder of a police officer in 1970. The duo were associated with the Black Panthers. I'm not shocked.
Romanticized histories of the 1960s depict the Black Panthers as community activists offering medical clinics and free breakfast programs for children. For many of the group's leaders, these giveaways served them in the same way that charity serves to cover crimes by mob bosses. The Panthers were a street gang that murdered, dealt drugs, and robbed. The fact that they served pancakes to hungry kids is about as pertinent to their identity as the Ku Klux Klan's adopt-a-highway efforts are to theirs.
Should they be convicted in the St. Paul murder of Officer James Sackett, Ronald Reed and Larry Clark will join a lengthy dishonor roll of Black Panthers who murdered policemen: H. Rap Brown, Mumia Abu-Jamal, Assata Shakur, Eddie Conway, David Rice, Ed Poindexter, and so on.
Oh you're such a racist! We should just leave these poor Black Panthers alone. Chances are, they were forced to kill due to their socio-economic circumstances. After all, Whitie has already taken so many of our boys and put them in jail. It's not the African-American culture, it's the system that's wronged us. Instead of putting us in jail, they should be giving us medals for instituting poetic justice on the white man (as well as continue paying reparations from slavery that definitely affects us today)!
Do these arrests have any connection to the white guy in his 70's that was taken in last week down south? Sounds like a tit for tat deal here?
Hey Chris Doyle
Let me guess your black right? Always have to throw the race card into a situation. Nobody forces anybody to "kill", people are responsible for their own actions. Thats the problem with liberals today, they dont take responsiblity for their own actions. They have to push the blame on anything but themselves. Medals for poetic justice? How about a lethal injection instead. We had a saying in the Military, "Have the intestinal fortitude to fess up to your own actions and take responsibility for them".
PS: Im not racist either, a very good friend of mine is black and is doing something with his life. Serving his country in the US Army.
James - actually, CJ Doyle is a white dude with three dogs, according to the picture on his homepage. Just click his name at the bottom of his comment - which was, of course, totally satirical.
"Black Panthers in jail? Get me Undercover Brother!"
James and Nightfly,
I'm afraid that Nightfly has uncovered my true identity...a white Irish male, playing Devil's Advocate to get a reaction. James, I applaud your comments on liberalism...you are right on target. The comment I posted was so sitirical and absurd, that I was hoping to get a laugh. But James, you are right! The problem (as if there is only one...lol) with modern liberlism (which is a watered down form of Marxism) is that they refuse to take responsibility for their actions. The rules change for their convenience, and there are no absolute truths. Everything is relative to fit their lifestyle and their immoral choices.
Speaking of the Black Panthers. I saw an interview on FOX News with the apparent leader of the new "Black Panthers United", who were protesting the Bush Inauguration...the woman being interviewed claimed that Bush shouldn't be conducting a war abroad when we have a war on drugs at home. The problem with this comment, is that liberal activists see the problems, but they never offer any solutions. They just think we can throw money this way and that, and things will get better. This is classic liberalism at its finest.
What these misguided Marxists don't realize, is that the war on drugs must start at home, in communities, schools, and churches. The government cannot change the values of America by throwing money at these problems. And it should not be instituing Welfare to quell illegal drugs. Only can local communities change the hearts and minds of their people. As Ronald Reagan once said, "Government isn't the solution, government is the problem."
Yes I do believe the war on drugs start at home. It is up to the parents to constantly snoop and keep track of their childrens lives. But with the new "No Snooping" law that California Liberals are trying to force on to the parents, its becoming even harder and harder for "good" parents to keep their children in check. Yes the Liberals believe that recording a few "say NO to drugs" commercials can automatically fix everything. That just shows you that everything cannot be fixed with money alone. Parents need to take action and stick up for their rights to guide their children down the right path, or soon this country is going to be so politically correct, and touchy feely that you wont be able to leave your house without offending somebody.
James,
We should just revert to some Orwellian themes here and have all children who think their parents are snooping in their "private, mature" lives report their actions to the government for review. The State will then take the children out of the custody of the parents, commit the parents to re-education and sensitivity training, and then distribute condoms to the children while they attend "alternate lifestyle" seminars.
What do you mean "money cannot fix everything"...look at the success of our Federal Welfare system. Since the great society took place in the late 60's, all the ghettos have dissapeared! If this isn't success, I don't know what is. Throw money at lazy people, let them continue to pump out babies and smoke marijuana, and then complain about how the white man oppresses them.
