Babel, Mumford & Sons' foot-stomping, banjo-infused second album better suited for the local EnormoDome than a front porch in Appalachia, outsold all but two other albums on iTunes in 2012. It's up for four Grammy awards. The cool kids aren't happy. Mr. Mumford apparently believes in the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. You can sing about killing cops and shooting heroin. But faith is forbidden. Read my piece @ the American Spectator that posits that in a world without taboos the only taboo is God.
Have I said it lately that liberalism is a mental disorder?
"Liberal", "Progressive", these terms sound warm and open minded, but they ain't and are typically keywords for the opposite.
The Left wants all religion dead. All Western religion that is. It's really not clear why other than their ideological communist heroes abhored and killed religion or anybody who ardently practiced it.
If they were true to their convictions that all religion is bunk, they would not be so respectful to the "Religion of Peace", would they?
Just who are the 'cool kids' you are referring to, Dan?
'If they were true to their convictions that all religion is bunk, they would not be so respectful to the "Religion of Peace", would they?'
My views on organized religion are well documented on this site but it does seem a bit contrary to me as well ASDF. Having a mutual enemy brings the Islamists and the America haters to some common ground apparently. Don't group me in with these convenient minded yahoos please.
Here you go,,,from 1965
I'm surprised it's not clear - the cool kids are the ones who anoint the lowly into the ranks of the "cool". And if the media culture worshipers do not qualify as the cool kids, who does?
Well put Homer. I got it the first time. But you put it better than I would have.
