Democrats wonder how African American businessman Herman Cain could seek the presidential nomination of the Republican Party. But Jefferson Davis, Woodrow Wilson, and Bull Connor wonder how African Americans could pledge allegiance to their party? Read my article @ FrontPageMag on how the party of Jim Crow, the KKK, and "segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever" wants us to forget all that and blame their political adversaries.
The whole premise of this article is idiotic. You realize that the vast majority of the Dixiecrats switched to the Republican party in the 60s and 70s, right? That's why the south is a monolithic block of red on election night. Ever heard of Strom Thurmond and Jesse Helms?
I guess why I think your point isn't really relevant, PMA, is that when the civil rights movement really, really mattered, all of its enemies were basically Democrats--Wilsonian progressives, New Dealers, etc. Who cares what these people did in the 1970s? Who was getting lynched when Gerald Ford was president? In other words, when racism was so huge a problem in America that it involved government, those perpetrating the state racism were almost all Democrats. This bothered some Democrats, sure. But most just played nice with them. I realize the article is inconvenient to the current narrative. But it's factual, and that should matter. Right?
Why is that relevant Lieutenant Dan?
Well, in the interest of remaining relevant, maybe Dan could write an article about the Democratic party's radical swing from one extreme to the other. Then it was the KKK and Dixiecrats supporting them. Today it's the (New)Black Panthers, Jeremiah Wright, Louis Farrakhan, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Cynthia McKinney etc. All rascist and race baiters. Apparently the Democratic party is equal opportunity.
That would be a good one NR and worth a read.. This is not your Daddy’s Democrat Party and there are very few moderates who are able to survive in it these days.
The 60’s radicals are now in control and they are getting their way and have made the Democrat Party, with no exaggeration, the Socialist Party with a definitive left wing agenda.
They still try to put on the moderate persona, but this is how a radical Marxist made it to the White House.
Some people are coming around to this.
Why is that relevant Lieutenant Dan? I'm interested too...

And speaking of the leftist agenda, it’s interesting that we have a sub-class of protesters proliferating the use of class warfare that our Pres is always talking and stumping about. This is what happens when you have an incompetent inexperienced academician of a leader whose only real job was community organizing and whose expertise is rabble rousing and elevating class warfare against the private sector.
Truth be told, interviews with the protesters show that they have no real clue of what they want and that their ire is mis-guided as they should really be protesting against a government that’s weakening this nation.
Hey, if you don’t have a crisis (never wanting to waste one), create one! It seems that all they know is power through chaos.
