Academics Defend Pedophilia

Are pedophiles a persecuted group deserving society's tolerance and protection? A small, but growing, number of college professors say yes. Pro-pedophile academics are attempting to give their vile beliefs a scientific air by invoking famed researcher Alfred Kinsey as the source of their "scholarship." But as I discuss in my article on NewsMax, Kinsey, like his present-day admirers, is a frightening example of how much harm intellectual morons can unleash with a lie.

I'd love to hear your take on Judith Reisman.

Why did it take more than 30 years for academics to mount a serious challenge to Kinsey?

I think it was largely for a couple of reasons. The first reason is that Kinsey, a trained entomologist, successfully cloaked his research to seem like science, particularly by making use of Darwin who was considered the unimpeachable standard of scientific knowledge by the 50's. At least when the "American Male" came out in 1948 it was a huge book and caused great media fascination but people didn't really bother reading it carefully (especially journalists). What they wanted from it was the basics about people like them, the majority of heteros. They wanted to know his results which indicated that sodomy was widespread, that sexual laws like anti-sodomy, and abortion laws should be overturned, etc. It fed into the WASP elites already growing embrace of sexual revolution and so getting purported scientific affirmation that they were doing what was "natural" by engaging in their sexual impulses was all they wanted from Kinsey. The same phenomena and elite reaction occurred in the twenties in response to Margaret Mead's complete b.s. "Coming of Age in Samoa" which justified adultery, casual sex, homosexuality (particularly in young girls), and easy divorce. The elites ate this up b/c this is what they wanted to be doing (or already were doing) themselves. It was a perfect means of rationalizing their moral failings.

There were scattered attacks on Kinsey and his work in scholarly journals in the 50's but even with Riesman (and Pat Buchanan got involved in trying to get to the truth about Kinsey) nothing much came of the controversy b/c the Kinsey Institute at Indiana University has complete control over the archives and evidence which would prove exactly how Kinsey came across his criminal information. They are absolutely secretive and it makes it easy for scholars (who probably aren't much interested in refuting Kinsey anyway) to claim that they are "reserving judgment" b/c all the facts and evidence is "not yet available."

I can't wait for my copy of Intellectual Morons to show up now so I can read Dan's take on all of this stuff.
