"Officer's Gun Blamed in Bystander's Death," reads an Associated Press headline.
So does sex, booze, knifes, cars, eh well i could go on forever. But whats the point?
Blameworthiness implies the possibility of praiseworthiness. Will AP report on any Good Little Guns out there?
Buzz,
The answer is probably no. It would be a mistake to underestimate the anti-gun bias among the "mainstream" media. It's far easier and more lucrative to report on all the evil guns, degenerate owners and their contribution to the decline of the republic.
Let's see....before the invention of the gun, people were killing each other in droves with crossbows. Before that, it was the bow and arrow. Before that it was the sword. Before that is was the sharp rock. The only thing that's changed over time is the efficiency of the killing implement. And given the lack of a sophisticated killing implement, people would hit one another with the nearest blunt instrument to get the job done, like maybe a frozen turkey? Guess you could say "people don't kill people, frozen turkeys do"! People will find a way is so inclined.
Maybe we should have frozen turkeys registered to avoid the possibly dangerous consequences of their misuse. I mean it. I dropped one on my foot one thanksgiving and YOW that hurt! If someone had told me beforehand that I could hurt myself that whole unfortunate business may have been avoided. Maybe I should have sued that bastard grocer for knowingly selling a dangerous product. Or maybe Butterball Corporation, someone should be held responsible for my injury.
You're right AM. How can they sell such dangerous items? One's that slide out of your hands or off of your table to injure you?! It's got to be someone's fault and somebody is to blame and needs to be held responsible. Bastiges!
I knew them guns were smart! Sittin' there like they're inanimate. Who are they foolin'?!
I wonder if any witnesses will be able to pick the gun out of a line-up.
Think about all the money and prison space we could save by putting the guns in jail. This may prove to be a revolution in the institution of justice.
